Recent research from Neuroscience has found that when we practise Mindfulness Meditation regularly our brain alters the way it reacts to stimulation that we usually find aversive or uncomfortable.
It seems that we can learn to experience pain as more distant and less troubling as the brain "learns" to engage different parts of the brain when dealing with pain information.
We may still feel Pain ... but some how it does not seem to HURT as intensely.
We can also remain CALM and Cope better ...
As we become less distracted and distressed by the sensation of Pain ... we are more able to perform our daily tasks .. where usually the pain "swamped"' us and interfered greatly with what we could get done.
If we keep up a DAILY Practice of at least 20 minutes using Mindfulness Meditation and learning to focus more on being present, we will be rewarded by less "suffering" ... and be able stay more in control of how we feel about both our body and ourselves.
